If it is felt that your child needs support that is different from or in addition to that for most children in school, then a plan will be made with clear timescales and outcomes. The year group staff, child, yourselves and our SENDCo, Mrs E. Hurst will review this regularly. Their learning style and needs will be met in class by intervention groups or individually.
If after this your child needs more support, we will begin the process of gathering evidence and apply to Wigan Council for the consideration of an Education Health Care Plan (EHC Plan) - please follow this link for more information http://www.wigan.gov.uk/Resident/Education/Special-Educational-Needs-and-Disability/Information-for-professionals/Education-health-and-care-plans.aspx
A keyworker may support you through this and our SENDCo, Mrs Hurst, will fill in this application with you. A panel of professionals will decide if the EHC Plan is appropriate and decide the funding.
Mrs A Hardy is the governor with an interest in SEND. She meets regularly with our SENDCo, Mrs Hurst. Mrs Hurst reports on SEND within school, to the full governing body at termly meetings and to the curriculum committee each half term.
