A : School finishes at the usual time of 3.15 pm.
Q : What time should we collect our children from after school clubs?
A : All clubs finish at 4.30 pm except Thursday's Year 3, 4 and 5 homework club which finishes at 4.15 pm.
Q : Can my child bring juice or flavoured water to school to drink during the school day?
A : No, your child can only bring plain water in a sports bottle.
Q : How much are school dinners?
A : £2.15 per day
Q : If my child is in KS1 and I receive benefits, do I still need to claim for Free School Meals?
A : Yes. Please call the Free School Meals Benefits Team on 01942 489002.
Q : Can my child be given medicine at school?
A : Yes, only prescribed medication will be administered.
Medication must be brought to the office by the parent/carer and the appropriate paperwork completed.
Only in exceptional circumstances will non-prescribed medication be administered (see

Q : Can my child learn how to play an instrument in school?
A : Yes. Wigan Music Service already come into school to teach children how to play the guitar, the violin, a keyboard, a snare drum and how to sing. Lessons cost £5.10 per session or £3.75 if your child is entitled to Free School Meals. For more information please refer to Key Information - Curriculum - Musical Opportunities within school.
Q : What should I do if my child loses their reading book or their school planner?
A : Report this to the child's class teacher.
A new reading book or school planner can be purchased from the school office at a cost of
£4.00 per reading book and £2.95 per school planner.
Q : What should I do if my child has lost something?
A : Ask a member of staff in your child's year group.
Please ensure that every item of your child's clothing is clearly named.
Q : Can I bring my dog onto the school premises?
A : No, dogs are NOT allowed on the school premises.
Q : How will I find out about my child's progress?
A : In the Autumn and Spring term, you will be invited to a Parent's Consultation Day where you will receive a 15 minute appointment with your child's teacher and your child. In the Summer term you will receive a written report.
