Year 4 performed their 'Sound Collector' poems and their Wigan Haka for parents on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Thank you to all who gave up their time to support us. Mrs Mather and Mr Wilding were bursting with pride.

11th October 2017 - Class 10 are enjoying their music lesson this afternoon with Mr. Parr from the Wigan Music Service!

We wrote up our Haka instructions then watched a group of Yorkshire men performing the Yorkshire Haka. Mrs Mather thought we ould do a better job! So we thought of works to do with Wigan. These are the results so far:

In maths we have been finding out about place value, partitioning and complex partitioning. We have done lots of practical activities to help us understand this.

Our Year 4 topic is Playlist.

 

Vinny is a punk drummer in his band called Strangeways. He came in to wow us with his drumming.

 

Helen is Mrs. Mather's friend and plays the flute. She also plays the piano, recorder, piccolo and the guitar. She came in to talk to us about wood instruments.

 

Nick Hope is Miss Hyde's friend. He is a BBC sports reporter and researcher. He came in to talk to us about reporting, editing and presenting.

The epic sounds of snares, hi-hats, cymbals and bass rocked through the school halls today where we had an experienced drummer come in to school and perform multiple tunes for our children. The children even got a chance to play themselves!
